About the event

ArtSchool was founded by Griffin Smalley and his good friends Nick Whitley, Christian Nazigan, and Josh "Cosmo" Chapman. The bonds of their strict private high school found them becoming rebellious and uninspired, which corresponded perfectly with Griffin's discovery of groups like The Clash (his middle name is Strummer), The Replacements, Stiff Little Fingers, and Fontaines DC. The first release the "Right Off of Work" demos came out on June 25th 2023, as the result of Griffin and Christian living together. Griffin now carries on the band as the other original members go on to pursue arts and careers, he is joined by close friends Erin Wardlaw taking up the bass and Connor Keville on dynamite drums.

ArtSchool is heavily inspired by the straightforward rock of the early london and irish punk scenes, as already listed as well as reggae/punk groups like the Ruts. Griffin hopes to write songs that inspire the multitude of uninspired and confused kids with whom he deeply relates.
